Summary

Smeet is an online social game that anyone can play on the web browsers. Featuring 3D model characters where they can interact with other players and visit different locations such as gardens, farms and arcade centers. They can customize their avatars to a different range of outfits and accessories to let you show your inner self, there are also mini games that you can play either solo or with friends and get the highest score and you might even bring home some cool prizes.

Gameplay

Smeet focuses more on interaction options and bonus content while still making the game compatible to web browsers, there is no need to have a beefed-up gaming PC to make it run properly, as long as your computer or laptop can run 3D graphics, you are good to go. The gameplay also has the blend of background interaction similar to the social games found on game website portals to make it more familiar to those who are playing the latest social games.

Starting off in the game will let you choose your preferred preset character and gender, there are no ways to manually customize their appearance as the four presets are fixed. However, you can customize the appearance later on in the game in which is one of the main highlights of Smeet. The game then starts with a simple set of tutorial quests to give you an idea on how things work in the game, some of the quests are straightforward as there will be a guide to explain to you which interact to access.

The game has a very dated user interface, something that were popular in the early 2010s, and this can be a problem for newer audiences as they might get turned off with the old interface that feels bland today. Also, some of them have small text and image which can be difficult to read regardless of what screen resolution the user has, a game update to add an option to adjust the text size would have been nice to compliment the issue.

As for the game controls, you will be using just your mouse and the left button the entire time, but you can use your keyboard for typing messages or searching videos in the game, but it does not have shortcut keys for quick access. You move your avatar by clicking on the ground and you can interact to objects by clicking on items that have floating icons to notify that you can interact with it. For personalizing your profile, the game encourages you to edit it with character details, though it does not need to be accurate with your personal information, you can add cool details to it just like in a real social network site. You can add profile image, links to your favourite video and other nifty details that you may want to share with other players and you could socialize with them for having the same interest.

There are many things that you can do in Smeet, you can customize your home to any design you want that is found in the in-game store, from wall décor to furniture and even the flooring, this allows you to have full control on customizing your room and you can invite other people to visit your place and hang out. You can interact in your room and earn currency or experience points. Speaking of experience points, you can earn them by completing quests or interacting in the environment, some interacting objects can provide additional items, but some objects requires boost points or known as action points to interact, you can earn boost points from rewards in interacting to the environment or quest rewards.

Aside from interacting at home, you can visit other places such as the disco lounge, here you can do fashion catwalks or show your dance moves with other players, you can even play videos by sharing the video URL of streaming sites such as YouTube. There other areas that lets you play mini-games, from taking care of garden plants to horseback racing and other quick to play games that you can play it alone or invite other players to join your session, there are some games that lets you win prizes if you get a high score.

Community

The biggest asset in Smeet are the players, and those that are playing the game are able to interact with each other. Players can chat either via public chat or in a more private personal conversation, and just like in any social games, there are rewards for interacting or befriending with fellow players, so it is highly encouraged to chat or play with them online. You can visit their place and hang out with them or challenge to them to the handful of mini games that are available in Smeet.

Graphics/ Sound

The visuals in Smeet is very dated, with simple 3D models of avatars that have limited animations. The backgrounds are all 3D rendered, similar to the method used in classic RPGs so they all feel static and outdated especially with the obvious pixelated images on higher resolutions. There aren’t any music soundtracks in the game which was a bit of let down and the sound effects are quite unimpressive and very few.

Conclusion

Though in terms of visuals and presentation, Smeet may not be the most up to date, but in terms of content and social interaction with players, this game has tons of it. For social gamers who are looking for a lot of ways to interact with other players, then this is the game for you, and if you don’t mind the simplistic visuals at the expense of having a quick loading game that does not require additional downloads, then you will love Smeet.
