Plotline

The world of Super Squad is a mix and match of universes smashed into one. Multiple factions work and fight against each other on a regular basis. The purpose of the conflict changes from each battlefield, with the objectives changing at a short notice. There is no concrete storyline as of yet, a narrative arc does not exist. The reasons for all the fighting all rests on the hands of the participants. It’s a very fun shooter that must be enjoyed and nitpicked to.

Gameplay

The gameplay is the gem and is featured front and center for a title like this. It is the main focus and the developers surely delivered an awesome product. Imagine the experience of a late game Multiplayer Online Battle Arena where everyone is already geared out and the only thing left to do is to demolish the enemy. This is what it feels like playing Super Squad. Forget the grind to get the items to complete a specific build. Just pick a character, a class, and polish your skills. Game sense is the most vital thing that matters. Coordinate with the team effectively, move tactically, and eliminate hostile troops with extreme efficiency to secure the win.

This Multiplayer Online SHoot-em-up is viewed from a top-down perspective like an RTS game. The mechanics are simple enough to learn but takes a bit of dedication to master and exploit. There are 3 classes available to use: Healer, Tank, Damage, Support. These specialize in specific aspects and contribute to the team in different ways. Properly taking advantage of their skills is a recipe for success.

10 maps where you can cause massive amounts of damage are in rotation. Two game modes are currently available to play: Domination and Strike. The first one is a newbie friendly mode where the goal is to capture zones and earn more points than the enemy team. The second is recommended for advanced players. It has two phases. The beginning requires gamers to collect a number of keys to activate a missile launch. The latter part will have the faction who activated the missiles must defend the zone in order to earn a win.

Multiplayer is the core of the experience. Working with other people is the best path to success. A proper team composition, complementing their comrades in arms will decimate anyone. It is so easy to group up with your friends or join randoms. The times where the game is most enjoyable is when everything clicks and the gang moves like a well oiled machine.

The graphics feature a stylized cartoon aesthetic. Playable characters have a variety of visual designs thanks to the multiversal lore. They all come from different dimensions and walks of life. You can be a pirate or an alien! It reflects what clothes they are wearing and accessories you can see dangling from them. Buildings, walls, and other infrastructure are varied too. There are towers, large complexes, and concrete barriers. There is a sort of plastic feeling to everything in the game, it’s like a big toy box. This is good since the title is aiming for an enjoyable arcadey time. The User Interface is clean and easily understood, all the information needed is clearly seen on screen.

Audio quality is decent. The myriad of beeps and boops for an arcade shooter is present. There are less wacky sounding effects than you may think. Voice acting is minimal and nothing to write home about. There is a constant background music playing as you try to decimate your foes. It is nice and compliments the gameplay so much. It hypes players up and makes the hectic battles feel more epic. It is such a great addition to the experience.
