Gameplay
The game starts off by teaching you the basics of the game and one of the most important skills that you will need to know and learn is controlling your swing power. It’s rather hard to gauge how much power you will need to reach the hole at first, but with some trial-and-error, you can roughly estimate the amount of swing force you will need to get your ball off the tee and as close to the hole as possible. However, once you’ve set your swing power, the bar on the swing meter will start moving rapidly. You will need to stop the bar in the marked region on the swing meter to score that perfect swing! Your mouse finger reflexes will definitely be put to the test!
World Golf Tour also provides an aiming feature whereby, after setting your target, it will tell you the distance and elevation that your ball will need to achieve in order to reach the target location. However, for beginners (or in golf slang, ‘hacks’), it is extremely hard to get your ball from the tee straight into the hole. If you can land your ball within 50 yards of the hole for your first shot, it’s pretty good enough.
The last part of the comprehensive tutorial introduces you to the mechanism of putting. During putting, the ground between your ball and the hole will be covered in a grid. This grid shows the elevation of the ground (Blue for high elevation and red for low) as well as which direction the ball will roll if you ball landed in any of the boxes on the grid. Despite the aid given, it’s not as easy to tap the ball right in as it looks. This game is still as challenging as real life golfing!
At the end of every game, you will be shown your scorecard. The scoring system in this game is similar to real life golf. Most golf courses have a set amount of pars (with an addition of 2 putts per hole). If you can score around the maximum number of pars or below it, you can be considered as a professional golfer. For amateurs, if you can score, for example, below 90 for a 72-pars course, it is considered good enough.
Golfing is not all about skill though, if you have the cash, why not spend it on some sweet new equipment to up your game? Similarly to the country clubs established for the golfing community in real life, World Golf Tour has its own virtual country clubs for you to meet other golfers from around the world. You can pick up some golfing tips from the more experienced players there and play golf with them in the game. Who knows? You may end up actually teeing off with them in real life too!

Graphics/Sound
The golf courses offered in this game look absolutely amazing! It has plenty of beautiful sceneries for you to enjoy and since these locations are based on actual golf courses around the world, you may get to visit one of these places if you can spare the money! World Golf Tour definitely has the best graphics among other golf games.
In terms of sound, you will get to hear upbeat techno music at the interface, but during tee off or putting sessions, you will get to enjoy either total silence supplemented with the occasional bird calls or sounds of cheering from your fans/ friends.
