Your brother and his wife are in serious danger! While filming an episode for their ghost-hunting show at a haunted house, they accidentally awaken the resident spirits, including the serial killer, Count Valack himself! Trapped against their will, it’s now a rush against time as you try to find a way to free the couple from the Count’s grasp in this supernatural-themed hidden object adventure game, Mystery Tales: The House of Others. Will you be able to save them before it’s too late?
Your brother, Patrick, and his wife, Stephanie, were ghost hunters and they were shooting an episode about Count Valack Arden, the serial killer, at the Count’s abandoned home for their Ghost Riders show. However, there were malicious spirits that haunt the place and the couple got into some serious trouble.
Thankfully, Patrick was able to reach out to you, his private detective brother, via a nightmare, letting you know that he’s in trouble and needed your help. Will you be able to save both Patrick and his wife from Count Valack?
Mystery Tales: The House of Others is a pretty unique hidden object adventure. The game comes with a ton of hidden objects to find, and they aren’t restricted to hidden object scenes either. There are other collectibles like butterflies, which will help you upgrade your boudoir; artifacts and even tarot cards. Since these items can be a tad bit hard to find, the game will let you know whenever there are any nearby via the indicators on either side of the “Inventory” menu.
By the way, if you don’t fancy playing hidden object scenes, you can also opt to play a match-3 game instead.
The puzzles in Mystery Tales: The House of Others come in two difficulty modes but generally, they are fairly easy to solve. You’ll find plenty of the puzzles that you’d probably be familiar with here, including Find the Difference or Connect the Dots. Interestingly, the game doesn’t show you the puzzle instructions right from the get-go. You’ll only see it if you click on the question mark icon. This is to allow those of you who enjoy figuring the rules of the puzzle yourself, which is, frankly speaking, a very nice touch.
Sometimes, you'll even get to use your special glasses which allows you to peer into the alternate world, and uncover a part of the storyline.
In addition to hidden objects and puzzles, Mystery Tales: The House of Others also comes with tons of achievements that you can collect and if you get the Collector’s Edition, you’ll even get a bunch of extras like concept art, wallpapers, soundtrack, and more.
Mystery Tales: The House of Others is an exclusively single-player game and hence, there aren’t any social elements. If you’d like to compete with your friends as to who’s the better gamer, I guess there are achievements that you can use as a pretty nice indicator.
The graphics here is as brilliant as the PC version of the game. Even the map looks amazingly good in this game. The music, voice acting, and sound effects are fantastic too. You’ll be getting some high-quality graphics and sound here, that’s for sure!
Mystery Tales: The House of Others is a pretty exceptional hidden object adventure that doesn’t only feature a story that’s both tragic and scary; it has some of the most entertaining and well-varied hidden object scenes too. It’s definitely a game worth playing, whether it is on your mobile device or on your PC because both versions are just as great!
