Gameplay

The game starts immediately with a clear-cut tutorial introducing you to how the game works. The game mechanics and controls are pretty simple to comprehend, particularly if you’ve played games like Farm Heroes Saga before.

In this game, you just need to drag a fruit to create lines of 3 or more fruits in order to collect them. Once you do, fruits that are near to the match will gain multipliers. When you match fruits with multipliers, you’ll get more fruits than what you’ve just matched up. For instance, if you matched 3 fruits with multipliers of +1, +2 and +3 respectively, you will not only get 3 fruits added to your objective. Instead, you’ll be getting 9 fruit count in total! Incredible, right? However, if you don’t use the fruits with the multipliers as matches in that turn, the value of the fruits’ multiplier will be reduce by 1 though if you don’t use it in a turn.

Furthermore, Fruity Jam Adventures also provides a range of special effects when you manage to match 4 or more fruits together. For example, by matching 4 fruits up, the entire row or column, depending on how you swap the fruit you used to create the match, will be cleared. Not to mention, you can also make match-5s in the shapes of L or T to remove both row and column of fruits. Most interestingly though, if you can get a match-5 that is linear, meaning that the 5 fruits are matched in a row or column, the match will create bubbles that will capture and clear all fruits of the same color from the board!

In terms of game objectives, Fruity Jam Adventures usually require you to collect the required number and type of fruits to complete levels. However, you are given a limited number of moves to get all the target fruits, so use your moves wisely! If you couldn’t complete the level with the moves available, you can choose to spend some cash to buy more moves or you’ll fail the level and lose a life. There are up to a maximum of 5 lives that you can lose before you won’t be able to play any more... at least until your lives are recharged, which will take some time.

Nonetheless, if you managed to complete a level with extra moves remaining, these leftover moves will then randomly grant multipliers to selected fruits and clear them from the board. You can earn quite a lot of bonus score points from this, so be sure to use as little moves as possible to complete a level.

Unlike in other match-3 games, there are no stars to earn in Fruity Jam Adventures. Instead, the jar that is being filled with jam has 2 milestone notches on it. To obtain the perfect score, you’ll need to fill the jar up to the brim. But of course, as long as you can meet the requirements of the level’s objectives, you’ll at least reach the first notch on the jar and get through to the next level without any problems. You can always return and try to fill the jar up by replaying the level.

To spice things up for you in the game, Fruity Jam Adventures provides some obstacles, such as the ladybugs and sugar candies. The ladybugs can be collected by matching fruits next to them. These bugs cannot be moved though. Moreover, for sugar candies, you’ll start off with the plain white version of the candy. You’ll then need to make a match near to them in order to paint them in the color of the matched fruit. Once the candies are painted, you can match them up (yes, unlike ladybugs, these candies can be moved) in order to collect them from the board and complete your level goals.

The game will introduce more types of deviously challenging obstacles as you progress in the game, such as the black moss. There may be even times when your match-3 skills will fail you resulting in defeat after defeat. In these cases, you’ll definitely need some boosters to give you the advantage you need to complete the level. There are 3 boosters available in the game. Among them is Diggs the Mole, who, when used, can remove a specific fruit of your choice. Each booster purchase can be used up to 3 times before it’ll be “used up”.
