Dark Knight is an MMOARPG where you play as a devil hunter with the blood of the gods coursing through his/her veins, who vowed to challenge the dark forces of the underworld and defeat the evil that has perverse the world. Take on the many lieutenants of the devils, level up, and gather the power you’ll need to cleanse the world of the seven devil kingdoms!
The game is set in a dark and chaotic world, where the forces of the underworld, led by powerful devils, have risen up and conquered the world above. The world is desperately in need of a hero and you, being no ordinary devil hunter, have decided to answer the call.
With the gods’ blood rushing through your veins, you’ll traverse the world slaying the many minions and lieutenants of the devils, gather strength and power, just so you can face down the devils themselves in their respective kingdoms.
To start playing, you’ll need to first decide which character class to play as. Interestingly, the game comes with three classes, namely Slayer, Sorcerer, and the Devil Hunter, but you can only choose between the first two classes. The Devil Hunter class is more like a job that you can unlock after you’ve reached a certain level playing as either a Slayer or a Sorcerer, allowing you to change your class if you so wish to.
The gameplay here is pretty much what you’d come to expect of a browser-based MMOARPG. Everything here is automated, so this means AFK questing and combat. The game can essentially play itself but you do need to drop in now and then to upgrade your character just so he/she will have the Force rating to take on tougher enemies.
Likewise, the game’s many features are pretty similar to what you might have experienced in other browser MMOARPGs, including beautiful goddesses that you can summon to join you in combat. However, before you can do so, you’ll need to collect all the relic pieces associated with a goddess. There are also 14 different and yet equally gorgeous goddesses that you summon in this game.
Aside from goddesses, there are also mounts, wings, a special sword, seal, relic and codex, all of which you’ll need to keep them upgraded in order to maximize the stats you’ll gain.
Dark Knight is primarily a PvE oriented game, providing plenty of dungeons for you to raid in, bosses to slay, and loot to accumulate. However, it also offers PvP, allowing you to test your mettle again other players within your own game server or even against players from other servers.
Despite having a gameplay that is similar to browser-based MMOs, Dark Knight isn’t playable on the browser. Instead, you’ll need to download its client. Thankfully though, there’s no need to install or patch the client since it’s more like a portable exe. You just need to download the client and boot it up to start playing!
However, I do have to say that the game does have some connection issues. Within the duration of my review, the game was constantly disconnected from its servers. Note that I’ve played the game on at least two of its servers (out of 10) and I’ve gotten disconnected pretty frequently on both.
As a freemium game, Dark Knight has an in-game shop that sells numerous upgrade materials, boosts and even packs of exclusive items. By “recharging” a.k.a. spending real money in the game, you’ll also gradually gain VIP levels, giving you access to higher VIP tiers and hence, better VIP perks.
You can set up or join guilds in Dark Knight, allowing you to band together with your fellow devil hunters to take on much more powerful enemies. There are also guild-exclusive events and features that you’ll have access to when you’re part of a guild.
Dark Knight has some pretty impressive 3D graphics. You can actually zoom in and turn the camera around to the angle you like while you play. The game has some fantastic music too. The upbeat music comes with deep and dark undertones which match perfectly with the theme of the game.
To sum it all up, Dark Knight is a pretty decent, dark fantasy-themed browser MMOARPG that is fun to play. The game doesn’t require a lot of “time commitment” unlike traditional MMORPGs and is perfect to be played on the side, while you’re doing something else like watching YouTube or Netflix.
