Summary
In this fun MMO game you are able to select a team of mercenaries, take them into battle and try to save the world. There are a huge range of combinations for you to try and you can train them all up and make them very powerful. Top the pvp ranks or hang out with your guild in this huge and engaging game where your tactics can win the day.
Gameplay
As you enter the world you are taken straight to the character select screen, where you can be a Mage, Warrior or Healer. When you select your class you are taken straight into the game where you discover that there are demons invading because the angel Lucifer has betrayed the gods and turned evil. What follows is an adventure where you use your skills and allies to chase him down and stop him.
The game revolves around team battles, where you and up to 5 more allies fight together to bear enemies and bosses in turn based combat. Your character has up to 4 normal skills and 2 fury skills. The normal skills unlock as you progress, and at level 30 you have them all. The Fury skills unlock at level 1 and 35. Each basic skill has an effeect, either healing or damaging opponents and these can be used at any point on your turn.
Fury skills are more powerful and can only be used when the fury bar is filled. Each skill has a cost, and this is deducted from the pool. The pool refills for each amount of damage you deal, but also if you take damage too, so it can fill up pretty fast and these skills are you most damage so don’t be afraid to use them.
You also have a host of companions to fight with you, they appear as you level and many arrive as part of the story quest. These can also be found in hero chests and from the more random rewards in the game. Each mercenary fits into a class of healer, damage or tank and they will automatically use their skills and fight in the battles with you. You have no control over them. These mercenaries also can be leveled up and evolved to make them more powerful and add to your overall attack bonus.
There are also several things that you can use to empower yourself, there are gear items that can be upgraded with ores and then go from basic to legendary as you advance. You also have a mount that you can evolve from a small lion up to roaring dragons and more. Evolving your mount also adds to your attack bonus. You also have a castle that has 3 main bonuses that you can farm while you play.
If PvP is more your thing there is an arena where you are able to battle other players, you get to play your active team against there set defence on auto mode, so you can beat higher level players and take risks to try and jump up some places. The ranks each have their own rewards and the higher you are placed the more you will receive.
There are 2 main currencies in the game, silver and gold. The silver is found in chests, from daily login bonuses and time spent online. Each battle also has a small silver reward and silver is spent in the shops and on your upgrades to each character. There are also lots of materials such as evolve stones, or seeds that can be found that are needed to improve your heroes. Gold is the premium currency and can be spend to speed things up, and also gain you VIP benefits if you wish.
The is actually a lot of tactical play here in Clash of Heaven, more than you may expect for a free to play browser MMO. You can auto path through the game, and this can be useful for farming but you can also play the battles and control your character. This is especially useful when you fight the tougher aspects of the game such as solo dungeons as the auto attack is not always the best solution.
The story is pretty basic, but it has enough bite to it to keep you playing, the occasional betrayal or surprise does pop up and it keeps it interesting. The gameplay is basic, but actually that works to the advantage here as you can just sit back and enjoy the game. With lots of side features, a huge amount of ways to gain power and a fun system you have a lot to play for.
Community
This is a pretty new game, at the time of writing so does not have the huge amount of websites or fandom you may expect. Having said that this is a fun game, and there are official forums and Facebook pages tied to the game. There is also a guild and friends system in the game that means you have a variety of ways to meet new people and stay in touch.
Graphics/Sound
This is a cute game with a lot of flashy spells and events in the game. The mounts look amazing and the overall combat is stylish. There is a nice 2.5D feel to the game and the music is dramatic and keeps you tied in. While there is nothing stand out or new about the game there is a nice quality to the finish and it is fun to play.
Conclusion
Clash of Heaven is a really fun game, there is a lot to do and a huge array of different personalization for you to enjoy. The power combos are obtainable too if you have the right mercenaries so the combo makes for a lot of fun. A great little game and lots of action to be found makes this a good place to be.
