Now, it is up to you to make the most out of your land and create your ideal home! You can place decorations, set up rows of flower bushes or even start a mini-farm on your lawn! Do you have the patience and the dedication to build a beautiful home in Happy Family or your virtual family? Play the game to find out!
You and your virtual family have just moved to a beautiful new home. Depending on the gender of your Facebook profile, you will either be the husband or the wife in the family. Now that you’re in a new place, it is up to you, with the help of your significant other, to make the most out of your land and create your ideal home!
Start by decorating the vast lawn that comes along with your new house! There are so many things you can place on it to make it look so much more beautiful than it currently is! For instance, you may want to place flowers or bushes along the fence that is circling your home. Unlike many other life simulation games where every patch of flowers that you bought from the shop comes fully bloomed, in Happy Family, you’ll have to water your flowers and bushes or they will not be able to bloom and show their pretty flowers or, for certain bushes, fruits! You can even collect the flowers, which will consume 1 energy point per plot of flowers, to sell for money as well!
You can also purchase pets and poultry, such as chickens, ducks, goats, dogs and even polar bears, and keep them on your lawn! Your animals will need periodical feeding in order to produce items like eggs and milk that you can then collect. Feeding each animal will require 1 energy point by the way. You can then sell these items for money to buy more decorations or you could save them for crafting later, so you can sell the more valuable crafted goods! You can also earn money by periodically collecting from your mail box or by collecting it from the house.
Furthermore, you can even set up your very own mini-farm or orchard on your lawn! Plant various crops or vegetables, like carrots, pumpkins and tomatoes, as well as fruit trees, such as apple trees, pomegranate trees and pear trees, and make sure to keep them watered so that you can collect the harvest later! Harvesting each plot of crop or tree will consume 1 energy points each from the total of 30 energy points. The harvested crops can then be sold for money or saved for crafting as well!
Now, before you start thinking that Happy Family is a farm game, please be assured that it is not… not 100% anyway. You can do a lot of other stuff that farm games don’t usually have in Happy Family! For instance, your character can interact with his or her significant other by giving the wifey flowers or showering the husband with loving kisses. These interactions will cost you energy points.
In addition, considering that you have 2 kids – a little boy and girl in your virtual family, you will also need to reserve an area on the lawn to build a mini-playground for them! Surely, you would like seeing those happy smiles on their faces, right? However, playground items require specific amounts and types of materials before you can construct them. You can collect these materials by removing trash, cutting down trees or even clearing stones and wild grasses or flowers.
This is where the game starts to get a bit weird – you can find some truly amazing yet illogical materials from some of the most abnormal places in the game. For example, you can collect screws from clearing stones and screwdrivers, in addition to plenty of logs, from chopping down maple or fir trees. Do bear in mind that you have limited energy points and thus, if you don’t fancy wasting them by repeatedly clearing trees, you can also request for the material from your neighbors in Happy Family. If you have some spare real life cash lying around, you could purchase food items from the shop to refill your energy points!
As Happy Family is a social game, you are encouraged to visit your friends’ virtual families daily and help out with some chores there to earn some bonus experience points and money! You will also get a free energy point in return as thanks for the help you provided to your neighbor. However, it is rather disappointing that you cannot interact with your neighbors’ characters very much unlike a proper life simulation game.
The community in Happy Family is huge! There are almost 1 million likes on its Facebook fan page, and if you need dedicated friends to help you out with the many social aspects of the game, this is the perfect place to meet and add them! Not to mention, the fan page’s admin is extremely helpful and polite, so if you have any questions at all about the game, don’t hesitate to ask!
The hand-drawn graphics in this game are very well-polished and are rather brightly colored. However, it is a tad bit disappointing that you are not given the option to zoom in to admire the characters in your virtual family. Most of the stuff in the game are so small as well, making the zoom feature a very useful thing to have. In terms of music, Happy Family provides a variety of very catchy music accompanied by birds chirping in the background. All of them are very pleasant to listen to and they give the game a very lively feeling!
All in all, Happy Family is an excellent family simulation game that allows you to experience having a virtual family with an ideal home. Place decorations and patches of flowers as well as start up your own mini-farm/orchard (or both!) on your lawn to give it that all-natural look! You can also put a big smile on your virtual kids’ faces by providing them with a nice outdoor playground so that they can have some fun! Don’t forget to drop by your neighbors’ homes to pay them a visit as well as admire their beautiful homes. Do you think you can create an environment that is just perfect for a happy family? Well, try Happy Family out on Facebook now!
