Without diving deep into spoilers, you will quickly discover that everyone, from the environmental conservationist Toby, social media star Lottie, and shut-in Bradley, to the uptight aunties Auntie June and Felicity (your mom), and the matriarch, Nan. You were absent from a family meeting that happened days before, and you’ll have to find out what transpired by asking your family members during the quiz. Fortunately, you can team up one character at a time over the course of the quiz, but unfortunately, some circumstances may lead to them not answering.

The overall story is fairly well-made, and although the characters are a little too eccentric, the plot and setting are entertaining. I love how certain characters are extremely obnoxious, while others are totally misunderstood cinnamon rolls unfortunate enough to have been born in the family. In any case, it’s hilarious as to why Uncle Marcus is putting his fate on his niece, going as far as urging her to make pivotal decisions.

Gameplay

Considering it’s an FMV game, Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus has little in the way of gameplay. Most of the time, you’ll simply click on prompts, review evidence, and make decisions as to who to go with during the quiz sequences. Your choices can impact the story’s ending and determine whether you’ll have enough evidence to make an accusation or otherwise. To get this done, you need to find a way to squeeze information from your relatives, which can be quite challenging considering that many of them would rather air their grievances than gossip about what happened during the family meeting.
