Summary

The beautiful world of Aetherion, once ruled in peace by the twin goddesses now lies in chaos, its future unwritten and its people under the yoke of a dark sister. Suddenly you are thrust into the power struggle and set on a path that could lead to salvation. Or the utter destruction of everything you know.

Plotline

In the beginning the world of Aetherion was created, and the Maker set twin sisters to guide the destiny according to the Calendar of Creation. Using the Celestial Scales the sisters were able to follow the plan and the land and its peoples prospered.

But when the last page approached the sisters could not agree upon the future, and as time passed the arguments get more heated, and eventually turn to war. In an act that seals the fate of the world one of the sisters tips the Celestial Scales and took all the power away from her sister, since then her plan has been followed, and the world has suffered for the imbalance.

Gameplay

When you first open Twin Saga you are able to choose from one of 4 classes: the SwordMaster, Mage, Gunslinger and Dragonknight. Each of these classes has unique moves and abilities that develop after time. As you progress through the game you are also able to unlock advanced classes, these are: Cleric, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Berserker and the Occultist.

These classes become available as you progress through the story and gain levels. Once you unlock a class you can swap between them at any time. This is a great feature that allows you to tank, heal or dps as needed, or swap classes to defeat a certain tough encounter. This is a really nice feature, and your gear changes with you to suit your appropriate class too.

Each class also has its own unique set of Ultimate Moves, these are charged up by using your normal attacks and they each of a special ability that can turn the tide of battle as well as deal a huge amount of damage to your enemies.

As you would expect in an MMO there are lots of quests for you to complete for a variety of characters you meet, and these will reward experience, cash and items. As you progress through the levels you unlock more abilities and can wear better gear. You will also open up the ability to have a follower.

These followers are called Senshi and there are several for you to collect as the story progresses. Each of them has a certain role and they can fight alongside you in the game. There is also a way to increase their loyalty so that they not only fight better but will also never leave your side.

One of the nicest features of the game is the ability to upgrade and enchant your gear. There are a couple of ways to do this, including fortification and adding Star Stones. This means that you can find equipment you like and improve it to keep pace with the content you are trying to do, it also saves the need to constantly replace your gear.

There are also proffessions you can have that will allow you to make and use items, many of which have a good effect on your character. There is also the option for you to set up a stand in one of the cities where you can sell your good to other characters and you set the prices for the items you have made.

Community

Although Twin Saga is a new game, it is available on Aeria games, and so has an already impressive community of players to hop in to. Even then this is a fun game with a lot of features that make for a very social game, helping each other out, joining a guild and party events. All of this combined creates a nice environment to play in and a lot of people to talk to.

Graphics/Sound

What you have here is a fairly standard 3D MMO, there are some really cute pets and animations and the combat is pretty straightforward. Where it gets interesting is the special Ultimate Skills for each class, they have a unique animation, and often this changed depending on the creature you fight, and they can be very entertaining. Overall there is nothing truly special but there are some really nice places for you to see.

Conclusion

Overall there is a lot of fun to be found in Twin Saga, though the adult themes and story make it very much not safe for children, there is still a great amount of enjoyment available. The plotline is interesting and the ability to change class when you need to makes the game have a lot of replay value, and means you can put a lot into one character and not worry about a long list of different characters of different classes. Altogether a cute and fun game to play.
