Gameplay

Machu Picchu Solitaire starts off with a simple tutorial that teaches you the rules of the game. However, if you’re familiar with the many solitaire games available online, you can just skip through the tutorial and go straight into the game!

The rules in Machu Picchu Solitaire are very simple to grasp. What you’ll need to do in this game is to collect all the cards on the playing field back to the foundation. However, you cannot simply collect them as you like... hence the rules. In this game, you’ll need to gather the cards up by selecting a card that is 1 value higher or lower than the opened card on the foundation regardless of suit. What this means is that if you have a diamond 2 on your foundation, you can then place an ace card or a number 3 card of any suit on it.

Sounds easy enough, right? Well, the catch here is that every solitaire game you play in this game is timed. For each level, you are given approximately 180 seconds, or 3 minutes, to complete the level. Of course, like most solitaire games on the internet, this game also features a combo system, whereby the quicker you play, the more stars you’ll obtain. You can earn up to 3 stars per level, so be sure to collect as many stars as you can!

Hold on now... what if you ran out of matches? Well, when there isn’t any more combination, you will then need to click on the deck to open a new foundation card. The deck has a limited number of cards and you’ll do well to bear that in mind. This is because if you couldn’t complete a level and you’ve run out of cards in your deck, you’ll then fail the level and lose a life. You are given 5 lives to start off with, but once they are all depleted, you will no longer be able to play. Thankfully, these lives regenerate by themselves over time and for the more impatient players, you could always bypass the waiting time by sinking in a couple of bucks (real cash) to buy lives.

Furthermore, if you’re having some troubles in completing a level in Machu Picchu Solitaire, you’ll also be glad to know that this game provides helpful Joker cards to give you a hand. These Joker cards will allow you to start the foundation afresh by placing any card you like from the playing field or from the deck as the new foundation card, regardless of what card the foundation had prior to placing the Joker card.

As Joker cards are vital in getting yourself out of tight spots in the game, you can easily purchase more of them by spending some of the in-game cash you’ve earned while playing Machu Picchu Solitaire. Sometimes, you can even find free joker cards while playing the game! You can also get it for free via the free daily spin if you’re really lucky, though most of the time, you’ll be awarded with in-game cash instead... which is pretty awesome as well. In addition to the Joker cards, the game provides you with a nifty undo button too. You can use it once per game to take a step back for free!

Machu Picchu Solitaire has very nicely designed cards that are not only beautiful to look at, but the numbers on these cards are very clear as well! The background images are also very well-designed. In terms of music, the game offers a variety of music that ranges from gentle string and piano-based instrumental music to a haunting tribal music with plenty of chanting. Overall though, the tunes provided in the game fit the game perfectly.
