League of Angels
League of Angels
If you are fascinated with the endless battle between good and evil embodied by Angels and Demons, then this browser-based MMORPG is the one for you. Developed by Youzu Interactive, this game has had the distinction of being chosen last year as Facebook's "best new game."This game combines both RPG and MOBA elements in its gameplay. The story centers on a hero that has been tapped to revive Angels who have descended into the world as League to battle the minions of the Dark Lord, whose army of evil and darkness have spread throughout the land. With your help, they can defeat this menace and bring peace to the land once again.
Players can unlock dozens of Heroes in the game, which means there are plenty of possibilities and permutations for constructing a Battle Formation. You can also awaken multiple Angels but only one can be used at a time in a Battle Formation.
Unlike most RPGs, League of Angels is noted for its use of automatic, turn-based battles. You read it right -- the player does not have any control at all over the battle. Instead, players have to construct a battle formation consisting of their strongest Heroes and one Angel. The combined attributes of the battle formation will influence the outcome of the battle. In other words, the stronger the battle formation is, the higher the chance of victory over a monster.
Defeating a monster will result to Gold, which you can collect by running the cursor over the coins. Alternatively, the game allows you to simply press the Space bar to collect the coins, simply for convenience. If a Quest requires one to enter a dungeon and fight a battle, they get to collect rewards, including Gold and Rare Items.
Just like any RPG, players can level up their Heroes by collecting EXP points. There are many ways to gain EXP in LoA. The most common one is to fight battles against monsters, and even players in the Arena. Completing quests also gives people considerable amounts of EXP points.
One attribute in League of Angels that players should watch out for is the Battle Rating. A player's Battle Rating can also influence the statistics of a Hero or an Angel. The Battle Rating can be increased by upgrading one's equipment at every opportunity.
Angels, on the other hand, are upgraded by a feature called Bonding, which increases the Angel's attributes and, at times, results to rare items. Bonding, however, is not unlimited. A player only has 2 free Bonding every day. These are reset every midnight. Bonds also require Angel Tears, a rare item.
Aside from Gold, LoA makes use of an in-game currency called Diamonds. Diamonds are consumed, for instance, every time you are sent to a Dungeon as part of a Quest. Dungeons typically consume 50 diamonds. When your supply of Diamonds is exhausted, you can replenish them by using the Recharge feature. This typically requires the payment of real money through Visa or Paypal -- the smallest package of 500 diamonds costs $4.99.
The game has features that allow you to collect Diamonds. For instance, by "checking in" using the Check-In feature for 3 straight days, you can collect a reward of not only 50 Diamonds but also 5 Angel Tears and 50 Vouchers. However, it is apparent that buying Diamonds is the fastest way to recharge your supply. With Diamonds being an important part of the in-game currency, the limited supply can minimize the number of hours you can play the game if you're not willing to dish out cash for the currency.
Ironically, Gold is something that the game is very generous about. There is an Online Reward Pack that lets you collect Gold every two minutes.
The game's graphics are remarkable. The character portraits are beautifully rendered and are works of art on their own. The colors are quite vivid and vibrant, which make them pleasing to the eyes. Despite that, the game's graphics are not taxing on your computer's resources, which means that you can play them in any decent unit anywhere.
League of Angels is definitely the game for you if you're looking for a game full of fantasy, beautiful graphics and challenging game play.
