Gameplay

You are taken straight into the adventure when you arrive at a camping station to discover that an avalanche has destroyed the area, and there are 2 people in need of your help. A young man and his guide. From here you must both help them and restore the station to its working condition in the high times of gold rush America.

One of the first things to do is to start clearing an area to move safely in and grow your crops. The whole map has lots of items that you can collect, from the wood in trees to berries in the bushes everything you remove has a use for you. You can clear rocks to move to the next area and there will be many items you will need for later use in Klondike Adventures. Simply click on what you need to see the energy cost and click again to remove it. You can queue up several things at once to collect.

You then immediately have access to the patches of soil for your crops and here you are able to plant what you need, harvest it and then use it to produce food or fulfill orders. As you play more you will be able to increase the number of patches of soil and the variety of crops that you can grow. You unlock these by gaining levels, to gain levels simply complete the orders and the tasks set out before you.

Orders are found on the request board, and you can send them off to gain both experience and gold in return. These are often things that you can grow and make that you can then send by husky sled to earn the rewards. The tasks list is a set of things to do given to you by the variety of characters in the game. These include what to do next and will show you how to open up or use a variety of new buildings and animals too. They also have their own rewards including energy, gold and experience.

One of the nicer touches of the game is the story mode, every so often one of the characters will arrive with a problem, or a comment and you are able to choose one of 4 responses. If you choose the correct one you are rewarded with a diamond. So make sure that you do what you feel would be the right thing, and these also expand the story for you too.

Diamonds are the premium currency of the game and they can be used for a variety of things, such as speeding up production times, filling in for missing ingredients and used in the primums store too. You can also buy gold for real money as well, the gold is used to buy crops, animals and improve buildings. Both of these are available in the game through the plus button on the game interface.

You are also able to use several different production buildings, these will make everything from wood chips to the latest tools to use on your farm. These require materials to be collected from the world and they will then be finished. Many of these also help to open up the story too and there are many different technologies you can improve or find as you play. Many of the items produced in one place will have a use in another so there is a lot of synergy in the game.

There is also a map with a variety of locations for you to visit, these open up as you complete the tasks and give you a lot of different places to do stuff in. When you open a new area you will also see wooden crates, these have many useful items in so when you find one click on it to gather what is inside.

Gathering items from the wild will take some of your energy, the larger the item the more you need to spend. You have 100 to begin with, and this refreshes over time at one point every 90 seconds. Many of the tasks will also give you back some energy too, while you can just collect everything it is better to only take what you need for the tasks, so you are not just stuck waiting for more to come back.

The controls are easy to master, as this is a dedicated mobile game all you need to do is click or swipe on everything. It is a really simple design that lets you see the glory of the landscape and what you create rather than clutter up the screen. A really neat and pretty little game with lots of fun activities for you to do.

Graphics/Sound

This is a really cute little game, with a great 3D look and feel there is a lot to enjoy here. The animals are all moving around and very clear and the landscape is beautiful. A lot of care has been put into this and it shows. There is a nice feeling when you play, it just flows really well and the soundtrack is a nice accompaniment to the look too.
