A treasure hunt has led a small group of young explorers to a remote and mysterious island. Set up the necessary buildings to produce vital resources and tools to help them explore the island more efficiently. They will encounter plenty of events that you’ll then have to solve including how to cross a ravine. You can even get them to go spelunking in deep caves to find rare resources like iron and other valuable artifacts that you can then sell for cold hard cash! Well, now that you’re on the island, you’d better set up camp before it gets dark! Put a roof over your people’s heads by setting up houses. There are many types of houses available in Island Experiment, but you’ll need to level up to unlock the better ones. Houses are important in this game as they are your primary source of coins. Money is used in almost every aspect in the game, and besides houses, you can also get a bit more of them by selling off items or resources from your warehouse.
The building process in Island Experiment can be a tad bit tedious though. This is because it’ll cost you coins to set the foundation of the building on your island, but you’ll still need to provide sufficient resources, such as wood and surprisingly, food (perhaps for the worker who will be doing the rough work), to actually get it built. Constructing a building will take quite some time to complete and it’ll occupy the time of 1 of your workers as well. Of course, you can also upgrade your buildings, including houses, to increase their productivity.
In addition to money, you’ll also need to gather resources as –obviously- you’ll need them to construct more buildings. There are a crazy load of resources that you can gather in this game, such as lianas by removing ferns, stones, grasses, seashells, water, mysterious crystals from their giant counterpart, bamboo and even berries. Most importantly, you’ll can get the much needed wood by cutting down trees and clearing sharp thorns or even by constructing a sawmill and getting one of your workers to work there.
For certain rare resources, such as iron, as well as valuable finds, you can even send a fellow worker to go spelunking in the deep and dark cave. You’ll then need to navigate a mini-dungeon-like setting while getting as much items as you can by using the shovels you’ve crafted at the workshop or earned via quest rewards on the various interactive objects in the cave. Of course, you’ll also be able to get free resources by asking your friends for them as well.
Resources may be important, but they are not as vital as food in Island Experiment. This is because every action will cost you food in this game. Actions will also take up 1 worker, so how many actions you can do depends on how many workers you have, which technically is 3 at the beginning. Don’t worry though, you’ll get more workers as you progress in the game. You can get the food that you need by farming as the soil on the island is very rich. All you need now is a vegetable patch and some seeds to get stuff growing. You’ll need to feed your growing population after all! For farming, you don’t even need to pick a crop to plant, you just need to indicate how many food you want to produce. You can also upgrade your vegetable patch so you can get more food per cycle of planting and harvesting.
With so many resources at hand, you will want to keep them safe by building a warehouse to store them up. Your warehouse has limited storage capacity, but you can upgrade it to increase this capacity. Naturally though, you wouldn’t want to horde everything up. Do sell items that you no longer need off for some extra cash while freeing up some space.
Not to mention, if you have any cash to spare, do feel free to spruce things up a bit on your island by adding beautiful decorations, like windmill, lantern, torches, and flowerbeds, and even plants. The costs for these décor are pretty much split evenly between spending in-game cash and premium cash. However, do take note that you can earn some free gems (premium currency) by achieving achievements in Island Experiment. You can also get adorable pets to roam the island with your people, but these pets will cost you some real cash instead.
As you explore the mysterious island you’re on to discover its secrets, you’ll come across boxes or chests that you can open to get some goodies, though for chests, you’ll need to buy or find keys to open them. There are also traps that you can disarm to get more coins and rare resources. There are even random events, such as moles popping up from the ground, whereby you can click on it repeatedly for free coins, or giant rats that you’ll have to defeat. If you fancy checking out other players’ islands, do feel free to do so by hopping over to the leaderboard.

Island Experiment features an upbeat and pretty catchy techno-type music that is often accompanied by the chatter of birds. The music can get rather annoying after some time though. Thank goodness for the mute button... if you need it of course. On the other hand, the 3D graphics in this game is pretty amazing! The scenery is very beautiful and the building models are all very well-designed.
