Gameplay

You’ll start off with a mediocre team of players. Don’t worry though! Soon enough, you’ll be leading a team filled with only the elite players, handpicked by you! To do so, you’ll need to send your talent scouts to all corners of Europe in search of the up-and-coming football star and sign him on! There are many different grades of players, namely common, fine, elite, excellent, and so on and so forth.

Different players also have their own strengths and weaknesses which you can view from their stats. Players’ stats are generally separated into 2 different groups, technique and physique, and each group contains 4 stats. Technique contains finish, pass, tackle and dribble (or save, pounce, throwing and long, if he is a goalkeeper), while in the physique category, you’ll have intercept (or command, if he is a goalkeeper), strength, speed and coordination.

If you’ve found a player you like, well, you’ll have to check out the signing requirement and signing fee. Usually signing fees won’t be much of a problem since you hardly get to spend your hard-earned Euros (in-game currency) in the game. However, signing requirement will usually require contracts of varying levels depending on the grade of your player. For instance, if your player is an elite player, then you’ll need a level 2 contract, while an excellent player will require a level 3 contract. Thankfully, contracts do not require premium cash in this game, though if you want, you could spend real money to buy some. This is because you can rather easily earn these contracts by playing and winning league matches.

You’ll start with the Series A League and eventually, you may even make your way to the Premier League! However, if you ever want to progress to the next stage, you’ll need to win the league first and to win a league means that you’ll need to defeat every football club participating in the league... or at least get a higher point rank then all of them. However, it’s fairly easy to ensure victory in Euro Football and here are some tips!

The first thing you’ll want to check is the power rating. To ensure victory, you’ll need to have a higher power than your opposing team. Furthermore, there are 2 kinds of power – home and away power, and the power you refer to depends on whether you play as the home team or the away team. There are plenty of ways to increase your power and some examples include fielding higher grade players, or improving player’s abilities via training.

In fact, investing your team training points into your best players’ stats may perhaps be the easiest way for you to improve your team’s rating! You can get more team training points by playing matches or by completing quests and obtaining training point cards, which you can then use to claim your bonus training points. Moreover, once your players have collected enough experience points, you can also upgrade your players here using upgrade cards and spending some Euros.

After spending all your training points, your team is ready to rumble! Matches in Euro Football are live and will play out by themselves, but you can choose to view it via full view or dynamic view. Full view allows you to view the entire field (it is supposed to anyway) while the camera in dynamic view will track the player with the ball, allowing you to view only where the action is at. You could also skip the entire match to get to the results. The results will show how many goals your team and the opposing team have scored along with interesting stats like successful save, dribble, sliding tackle, pass and interception. Then, you’ll get to choose 1 from 3 cards as your reward.

In addition, do also take note that due to the limited League energy that you have, you cannot play leagues non-stop in this game. Once your energy is drained out, come back again tomorrow and play some more!

Now that you have your contracts, you can get better players for your team. Bear in mind that you can perform up to 8 searches or scoutings per day, but these searches will get refilled whenever you level up, which will happen quite often right until you reach level 25 or so. Also, you have up to 7 free substitute slots in the game, so if your substitute slots are filled up, you will not be able to recruit new players. Thus, remember to do a bit of spring cleaning now and then to dismiss all the weaker players from your team. Furthermore, if you log in daily, you’ll also get a free elite or better grade player per day. The game’s very generous, isn’t it?

There is also a crafting feature in Euro Football whereby you can combine 5 low level contracts or upgrade cards at the tech center to get 1 higher level item. For upgrade cards, you can even “promote” your 3 of your, for example, common level 2 upgrade cards, to get 1 elite level 2 upgrade card! So, technically, you don’t even need to spend real cash on this game - you can just use the crafting feature and by playing all the challenges and matches available to get the cards you need!

Also, if you want to win lots of training points and upgrade cards, you should definitely play the challenge matches. However, similarly to league matches, there is a restriction in place in the form of match stamina which prevents you from burning through the content all in one day! However, since they usually refilled themselves whenever you level up, you can play quite a lot of matches before your stamina will run dry!

Moreover, there are many different types of tactics in Euro Football, namely offense, defense, playmaking and counter along with their many different player arrangements. You can “level up” your tactics and unlock new tactics using tactic points. Tactic points can only be earned from ladder matches and cups, both of which will pit your team against other human managers in the game. Ladder matches are one-on-one matches, but it contains up to 30 stages that you have to complete. As you move on from stage top stage, you’ll be facing opponents of increasing difficulty. What you’ll need to do is to defeat as many as you can and rank as high as you can to earn great ranking rewards!

Cups, on the other hand, are more like tournaments, whereby you’ll need to make your way by defeating other winners to get to the final match and win the trophy! You can also give your players a leg’s up in the match by equipping them with better football kits once you’ve gathered enough reputation by defeating teams after teams in various ladder and cup matches! At higher level, you can even transfer players with other players in some sort of a trade off!

Euro Football is a fairly new game – it is only a month old, but it has gathered quite a huge following on Facebook! There are almost 8 thousand likes on its Facebook fan page and the game has half a million monthly active users as well! Graphics/ Sound

The game has rather nice graphics and the live matches are rather superbly done! However, there are some problems with the size of the screen though since you will not be able to see the goal post on the other side of the field even though you’re viewing in “Full view” mode. Euro Football doesn’t provide any music except when you’re viewing a match. The thunderous roar of the crowd and the electrifying excitement of football matches... you can feel all of it in this game! Although you don’t exactly get to play the match out yourself, it’s simply amazing!

In short, Euro Football is definitely one of the most addictive and fun football manager game on Facebook and perhaps even on the internet! Unlike the other football manager games, Euro Football doesn’t feel like a pay-to-win game. In fact, it is so free-to-play friendly that free-to-play players can even have a shot at reaching the big leagues! The best players are available in the game, unlike some other games whereby the elite players are only reserved for spenders.
