Summary

Touted as a storyline-oriented and browser-based fantasy MMORPG, Eternal Saga is an anime-based MMORPG with a truly interesting storyline about the war between demons and mankind and how you are going to turn the tide of fate and banish the demons once and for all! Select one out of the 3 factions provided, namely the Astra, Luma and Umbra, and once you reached level 10, you can also choose one from among the 3 archetype character classes provided. Boost up your battle rating by upgrading your equipment and armor as well as improving your skills! Collect and train pets and mounts as they are vital in giving you that extra edge that you may need! Participate in exciting and challenging dungeons, both solo and in party, and have fun defeating other players with a fellow friend in the cross-server PvP arena! The Land of Enchantment in Eternal Saga is once again under threat from the demonkin and it is up to you to save the world from certain destruction! The only question left here is… can you do it?

Plotline

The Land of Enchantment used to belong to the humans until the 72 Pillars of Magic fell from the sky 6000 years ago, bringing along disaster and unrest. 100 days after the Pillars of Magic arrived, all creatures, magic beasts and men that had been touched by their miasma became fallen demons and succumbed to the command of the demon lords.

In 100 short days, the Pillars of Magic had increased the size of the demon horde to hundreds of thousands strong and they waged war on mankind, intent on wiping them out! 3000 years ago, on the brink of extinction, humans formed the Holy Alliance and managed to stop the demons in their tracks, but the threat was far from being eliminated! Plenty of snippets of storyline are scattered across the land and you can slowly uncover them by doing quests!

Gameplay

Start the game by selecting a faction to sign up for – the Umbra, Astra or Luma! There isn’t any difference between the factions in terms of the character classes available, but faction is important to determine which guilds you can join and how certain pvp events are organized. You can also choose the gender of your character here.

Then the story begins: You fell from the sky and were nursed back to health by Uncle Harry who found you unconscious while he was patrolling the public square. You have no memory of anything. However, you appeared when Lady Sherry, the most famous fortune teller, predicted that a savior would come. Could it possibly be you? Due to your rather unconventional way of arriving on the world, many believed that you are the one who will save the world from a disaster of an unimaginable scale. Guess you’ll just have to do your best!
After running around piecing up the introduction part of the story, you’ll soon reach level 10. This is a vital moment for you as you’ll finally be choosing your character class! Eternal Saga offers 3 archetype classes, namely hunter, warrior and mage. Each has their own specialized class skills in addition to basic skills and guild skills. Don’t forget to improve your skills as you level up as well! Depending on whether you like attacking from a distance or up close and personal, or whether you like playing a class with higher critical rating or a class with more damage, you’ll need to find a class that suits you!

Questing is the main way for you to level up in this game and it is very easy to level up due to the auto-pathing and auto-combat system integrated with the quests in Eternal Saga. Everything is automated except the part where you have to accept a new quest or complete an old one. Even when you have to run a solo dungeon for a quest, everything can be conveniently automated. However, you could also choose to manually quest if you want to enjoy a slower pace of leveling.

The combat system in this game is very similar to other MMOs - your character will be given a set list of abilities that you can use to deal damage to the mobs. Once you reached a certain level, the game will provide you with pets that are loyal, courageous and will protect their owners with their lives! Pets do not only increase your strength (battle rating), but will accompany you as your ally in travel and in battle! Furthermore, the Land of Enchantment is filled with powerful creatures and if you’re able to befriend them, they will follow you and become valuable companions! You can own up to 8 pets at any time.

You’ll need to regularly feed and train your pet so that it can become strong alongside you instead of lagging behind. Feeding your pet will increase its satisfaction which in turn allows it to be at its maximum potential! In terms of training, well there are 2 aspects of training that you will have to focus on – aptitude, which will increase your pet’s base stats, and growth. To train, you’ll need to have the necessary pet pills, but thankfully, Eternal Saga provides up to 4 free upgrades daily for each aspect of the training. Not to mention, your pets will need something to protect them from harm too... same as your character does! You can craft these pet equipments at the forge once you’ve gathered all the materials needed.

Besides pets, you’ll soon get your very first mount – a magical paper airplane! Mounts in Eternal Saga have their own skills which are upgradable too! Most of the skills are support-based as mounts are there to support their master in combat, which is you! Mounts can morph into other forms, provided that you’ve purchased a “mount skin” for it to morph into from the cash shop. You can have up to 3 different mounts at any time!

Eternal Saga also provides exciting PvE encounters for PvE fans! You can enjoy the many solo dungeons using the nifty AFK mode and your character will run the entire dungeon ro you and loot all items without needing you to guide him/ her. There are also group dungeons, such as the Scimitar Valley. Once you reached level 40, you can test your demon hunting skills along with 3 other players at the Scimitar Valley fighting hordes of demons! No AFK mode allowed here!

If you’re more of a PvP player, don’t worry! Eternal Saga even has cross-server arenas whereby you will team up with a fellow friend to fight with a team of 2 opponents. With proper use of your character skills as well as superior gear, your team can perhaps best your opponents and emerged victorious!

In addition to these features, Eternal Saga also has a market area for you to buy and sell items, though the only currency used at the market is gold (premium currency). You could also synthesize a variety of gems and stones at the forge to enhance your equipments, as well as a range of other materials. If you ran out of inventory space, there is also a vault option for you to stash away anything that you would like to keep, but won’t be needed while adventuring! You can also buy more space by using gold.

Community

The community in Eternal Saga generally group together into guilds and guilds are very useful in this game. Guild members can contribute any excess money that they have for the good of the guild – that is to say to help the guild level up! By being in a guild, you are also rewarded with certain benefits, such as access to passive guild skills, guild-only dungeons (such as guild chamber, altar and inferno), guild buildings and vault, as well as the opportunity to challenge the guild beast for a chance to win legendary items! Graphics/ Sound

The music in Eternal Saga consists of a range of music including a nice and catchy piano music that makes the game feel cheerful (A bit like what you’d hear while playing some casual game though) as well as the fast-paced combat music. On the other hand, the anime-cartoony graphics in this game are very similar to other anime MMORPG games. The characters are absolutely beautiful... angelic even and its sceneries are nothing short of astonishing!

Conclusion

Eternal Saga is an anime-inspired browser-based MMO game that has a rather engaging plotline about a beautiful world threatened, once again, by horrendous demons! At the moment when a fortune teller predicted that the skies will send a savior to help, you arrived on the world albeit without your memories of what had happened.
