Summary

Welcome to the world of Eldarya, a magical realm where adventure and romance wait for you. When you suddenly find yourself trapped in a new place, full of strange people it is up to you to make friends and explore, and maybe find something more than friendship in this amazing new game.

Plotline

One day you are out for a walk in one of your favorite woods when you find a glowing circle of mushrooms. Suddenly you find yourself in a crystal lit chamber where a strange woman gets angry with you. From there you find yourself on an adventure full of fun characters and the opportunity to join the highly respected Guard of El.

Gameplay

Eldarya is a story led virtual world where all of the story and your actions are played out in a simulation style. There are some beautiful images for you to see as you discover the land and meet new people around you.

When you first log in you are able to choose your character name, after that the story unfolds in front of you. You are guided by text and images rolling across the screen, though at the start there is not much you can do as the game goes on you can begin to choose where to go and what to say.

The game is divided into episodes, and each one introduces more of the story and gives you more things to do and characters to meet. Each of these episodes will also give you a new image to add to your collection and unlock more items for you to add to your character.

You can choose the appearance of your avatar, everything from clothes to hair and the background. These become available over time and cost either Maanas or coins depending on what you have to spend. Once you own an item you can change into it whenever you wish, and you can preview them before you buy.

As mentioned there are also opportunities for romance in the game, though the character you play is female, there is currently no male character available. When you arrive in Eldarya you are able to choose a character to have a crush on, this costs 100 Maana and can be changed at any time. The character you have have a crush on is easier to get the portraits for during the story episodes.

During the episodes it is also possible to fill up what is called the “love-o-meter” this is a bar that fills up the more time you spend with a character, and the choices you make in the game affect the bar and how they feel towards you.

There is also a cute pet shop where you can buy companions to travel and explore with, these creatures fit into the magical world and are also unlocked the more you explore and as you gain levels in the game.

THe game is entirely controlled by the mouse, and you can simply click on the area you wish to move to or the conversation point you wish to say. As time goes on more and more episodes will be released, giving you more portraits and stories to enjoy.

Community

While you can’t directly chat to other players in the game, there is a very active forum community with a lot of game related and not game related posts. Eldarya is proving to be a very popular game, especially considering it's only recently released. There are also several sites dedicated to the game and a large amount of people who create their own art for the world setting and characters.

Graphics/Sound

For a 2D simulation game, this actually looks pretty good. There are some beautiful places to visit, and the characters are well drawn and easy to identify. As this is a magical world there is a lot of scope for some amazing creatures, and they all appear in this magical game.

Conclusion

There is a lot of fun to be found in Eldarya, even though it is more aimed at a female audience there are still a lot of players here. The continuing content stream is also nice, where you can see the story unfold over time and still have people to talk to and things to do in the game. Overall you can really settle back and enjoy the romance and adventure in this magical world.
