Sketch Tales is an action/ RPG sandbox multiplayer game that is entirely unique in its own right! The game provides various generated worlds, such as dungeons, castles, isles, cities, continents and others as canvases for you to exercise your creativity on and places for you to explore. You could even opt for a blank white canvas to create a whole new world of your own! The world will be subjected to a virtual day and night cycle, weather effects, landscape changes under the influence of natural disasters and magic, and if there are buildings in the world, they will deteriorate over time!

So, you’ve created your world. What can you do next? In Sketch Tales, you’ll explore and search for sketches and tools that are cleverly hidden and scattered across the world. Collect them and you’ll unlock a new animation or function that allow you to draw new types of objects and creatures. For instance, if you found and collected the sketch for a battle axe, you can then draw a battle axe of your own style, or if you are feeling cheeky, you can draw a big chunk of blob instead, and use the sketch to animate it so it will act as a “battle axe” in the game. The same goes for every other animation in the game! You can even draw new game objects while playing and the best part? Anything you meet in the game world (doesn’t matter what it is) you can then redraw or duplicate!

There are also realistic physical effects that come into play in Sketch Tales, such as forces, gravity, waves, particles and splashes. This means that objects that you draw in midair will fall down due to gravity and break due to the impact (how severe the break will depend on the height of the drop). You can even throw stuff around and watch as they gradually make their way down again! Wind will blow clouds and smoke that you draw away too! However, for players who don’t like having constrains of a real world exist in his/ her virtual one, well... Sketch Tales allows you to break the laws of physics with magic! You can walk on water, fly and other realistically impossible stuff (without aid of course) in this game!

In the case of NPC AIs, you can draw anything you like and then animate them to act like living beings in the world of Sketch Tales. Watch in amazement as your drawings come to life! They do not only stumble around like blind rats though! These creatures you’ve created will travel the world, collect items, create new objects, construct buildings, reproduce and even confront other NPCs (that they don’t like). You can also play the character you draw the way you want to play your character as there are no classes to restrict you, like other RPGs! Be a hero, wanderer, a creator or slayer of dragons... it’s all up to you to decide!

Furthermore, Sketch Tales can also double as an educational tool that can help budding artists to hone their skills! By drawing in this game, you will improve your real-life drawing skills and as you grow more confident of drawing, the game even allows you to move on from simple black and white drafts to complete and complex paintings in full color! The game’s drawing editor is very easy to use (even a child can easily learn how to use it) and has the capacity to allow for almost unlimited frames for animation!
