Jurassic World Dominion Comes to Jurassic World Evolution 2 in the New Dominion Biosyn ExpansionJun 24, 2022 | 1 Votes by Aethyna 10 rate Love watching the Jurassic World Dominion movie? Well, you might want to play it as well!
Not many film-to-game adaptation works out well, with a good chunk of them ended up being merely a half-baked tie-in, but for Jurassic World Evolution 2, it’s completely different. Not only do you get to experience a whole new original Jurassic World story, but the game’s campaign is also narrated by your favorite stars from the film franchise, and it offers one of the most entertaining management-style gameplays, thanks to Frontier Developments’ work on tycoon and sandbox simulation games throughout the years.
Now, everyone who watches movies frequently enough and keep tracks of them knows that Jurassic World Dominion, the sixth and last film in the franchise. It would be remiss of Frontier to no somehow include that into their game… and needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed!
Spoilers aside, the brand-new Dominion Biosyn Expansion that was released for Jurassic World Evolution 2 gives players the chance to relive the movie in some ways, but this time, you get to do take charge and do everything – at least the important stuff – yourself! This DLC comes with a campaign that further expands on the movie’s plot and give you the chance to head the technologically-advanced Biosyn Genetics Research Compound.
The goal here is to harvest dinosaur DNA from amber-encased fossils dug out from the amber mine the compound is located on top of, incubate and modify new species, and release them into their enclosures so that your scientists could study them. With enough work, you can hopefully come up with new breakthroughs in all fields of science that will help humanity… at least that’s the more noble idea behind it.
In addition to an entire new story-driven campaign to enjoy, you’ll also get a new Chaos Theory scenario that answers the question: what if Biosyn Genetics didn’t do what they did (no spoilers here) and that Owen Grady was able to live his life out in his remote cabin in the Sierra Nevada mountains wrangling dinosaurs and giving them a home… with the help of his friends and partner, of course.
Unfortunately, dinosaurs are valuable “commodity” for powerful people who don’t really care about the welfare of these creatures. As they now know that there’s a large group of dinosaurs being “herded” at the ranch, they will regularly send Rustlers, a.k.a. poachers, to go after the dinosaurs here. It falls on you to make sure that doesn’t happen!
Similar to the base game, you’ll be greeted by the cast of Jurassic World Dominion as they narrate the story as it develops. This DLC also adds n some new gameplay features such as the invisible fencing and gates, that allows your rangers and other staff to easily move from one enclosure to another without having the dinosaurs crossing the barriers into another species’ territory. Makes for some nice screen captures too!
As with all the other DLCs for the game, Dominion Biosyn Expansion comes with new dinosaur species, including the Pyroraptor, Therizinosaurus, Dimetrodon, and Quetzalcoatlus, as well as two new variants for Dreadnoughtus and Giganotosaurus. You’ll get some cool dinosaur skins too – the most exciting is the feathered Tyrannosaurus Rex! It’s about time, I’d say!
All in all, the Dominion Biosyn Expansion DLC is definitely a must-buy for any fan of either Jurassic World Evolution 2 or the Jurassic World franchise. However, considering how much spoiler it contains – about 60% of the spoilers under the Plot section on Jurassic World Dominion’s Wikipedia page, I’d reckon; it’s advisable to only play it after you’ve watched Jurassic World Dominion.
