Genshin Impact 2.0: 5 Things To Look Forward to in InazumaJul 14, 2021 | 1 Votes by Mikhail 10 rate Genshin Impact’s version 2.0 is coming within a month, and it promises to be an electrifying journey across a new land, Inazuma. What are some of the biggest highlights we should all look forward to?
Genshin Impact 2.0 will make its way on July 21st, and miHoYo released a trailer that only fueled expectations and gave us travelers more to look forward to. It’ll come as the next chapter to Aether’s (or Lumine’s) story and is set in a new land, Inazuma. This closed-off archipelago is under the oppressive rule of Baal, the electro archon and a member of The Seven alongside Barbatos (or Venti, AKA the Tone-deaf Bard) and Rex Lapis (or Zhongli). As the Raiden Shogun and self-proclaimed God of Eternity, she’s more hands-on than her fellow pantheon members, and her Vision Hunt Decree will be an exciting plot point that we can’t wait for.

So what do you think? It’s exciting, right? Take a moment to process the excitement and after you’ve done that, let’s take a look at some of the key takeaways and things to look forward to:
The journey around Inazuma
Liyue offers towering mountains, cliffs, and picturesque rock formations. Meanwhile, Mondstadt treats us to verdant plains and lush greenery with a treacherous snow-capped mountain, Dragonspine, on the side.
We don’t know the full extent of what Inazuma offers yet, but it promises to dish out its own set of attractions that will give us lots to explore and be amazed at. The nation is an archipelago, and from the trailer, it is home to Japanese-style temples and palaces and electro-filled environments, the skeletal remains of a serpent head in Yashiori Island.
Sakuras are mostly in full bloom, and the weather is as turbulent as the seas: a sunny day may turn into a stormy one in an instant. Apart from the locale, players will go face to face against new enemies. These include an electro hilichurl chief, a pyro hypostasis, and electro abyss mages. Moreover, there’s also a possibility we may collect electroculi which will come in handy in boosting stamina.
Ayaka, Yoimiya, Sayu, and the other characters
One of the most highly anticipated elements in the update is the introduction of several characters. Apart from the Electro Archon herself, we’ll get the chance to take a look at and interact with Ayaka, Yoimiya, Sayu, Gorou, and Touma. Moreover, there’s also Yae Miko and a bunch of other unnamed characters that will most likely become quest givers.
The beautiful and noble-spirited Frostflake Heron, Ayaka Kamisato, will be the first playable character available on the wish banner. Meanwhile, the friendly and extroverted Yoimiya, the bow-wielding owner of the Naganomiya Fireworks, will follow afterward. If you’re hoping your luck pays off and that you’ll get either or both characters on the gacha, start saving up those primogems and intertwined fates. Both appear to specialize in AoE damage, so if you’re looking for another character to deal copious amounts of punishment in the Spiral Abyss, they’re you’re girls.
Baal’s role in the story
Baal is the Electro Archon, and judging by the lore and crumbs of information we have so far, she seems to be the primary antagonist in this arc. They say her motivations for the Vision Hunt Decree are to chase “eternity,” but in this regard, what does “eternity” mean? It’s also worth noting she’s the youngest of the already-revealed archons, and unlike Venti and Zhongli, is more active in governance.
Let’s also not forget about the Fatui, the Harbingers, and the Tsaritsa (who is the Cryo Archon). The Harbingers took venti and Zhongli’s gnosis, and it’s not farfetched to say Baal may end up experiencing the same fate. Though we don’t know what the Fatui’s role will be, we’re honestly expecting them to swoop in the aftermath of the battle between Baal and the Inazuman Resistance.
So far, the Avatar-esque Traveler can resonate with anemo and geo, and then use them in battle. We’ve seen Aether do so with electro and using a new set of abilities in the trailer. We’re looking forward to seeing what new elemental skill and burst is, and hopefully, it’ll make the Traveler a suitable DPS option.
New events and weapons
The events highlighted in the trailer are:
- The Thunder Sojourn, which features Beidou.
- The Stage of Wonders
- Phantom Flow
- Lost Riches
- The Ley Line Overflow, an event that lets you double your Ley Line Rewards three times a day.
All these will grant the usual servings of primogems, mora, ascension materials, weapon upgrades, and character experience.
So, in your case, what are you looking forward to the most in Genshin Impact 2.0? This update will be a lot to take in, but that’s a good thing since there will be more for us to do in Inazuma. See you on the archipelago, Travelers!
